The Internet Is Too Loud. So I Made This. | Melodic Minute

Hey friends,

Welcome to the very first Melodic Minute. This is a new series on the channel: a calm, creative corner of the internet where we sit down, make some music, and have a chat. No rush, no quick edits, no noise. Some episodes I'll walk you through what's happening performance wise, other times we'll get into deeper topics like creativity and how to protect it in a world that keeps getting faster and louder.

In this first episode the desk is a mess for a good reason. I'm preparing for my first b2b live set, playing mostly improvised alongside the amazing Fabian Laute. To keep things solid I'm leaning on gear I know inside out, my Moog Subsequent 25 and the Push 3, and running the Moog through the Meris Mercury X reverb pedal.

I walk you through my edited the Mercury X presets for the gig, including the two assignable encoders I mapped to white noise and choir like chanting, plus the Decay, Predelay, Mod and Mix controls I use to drain patterns into reverb for build ups and breaks. On the Moog I'm playing in duophonic mode by hand, shaping little two note progressions on a synth that is technically mono, the same technique behind my track Dune. No safety net here, just testing what works in the moment.

This series is meant to be built together with you. If you have an idea for a topic you'd like me to cover in a future Melodic Minute, drop it in the comments. I'd love this corner of the internet to be for conversations with you.

Thanks for being around and stay creative,

Milan (KVNDRA)
