When J-M Jarre Released his ‘Oxygène’ album, it was like a flash as well as an evidence: Electronic Music’s power of suggestion and creativity are limitless ! The passion for synths was born and would never stop growing with the discovery of Klaus Schulze’s soundscapes, Tangerine Dream’s sequences, Kraftwerk’s robotic sound experimentations...
After making sounds and noises with a friend on a Moog MG-1, self sound experiments will start with the purchase of a Roland SH-101 and a few cheap keyboards (one of wich was a sampling keyboard with 1.6 sec maximum sampling length). A series of first tracks will be recorded a bit later on a cassette tape.
After attending some major concerts in Brussels (J-M Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Klaus Schulze), many more confidential Electronic Music events in Holland will mark the beginning of his high interest in less academic but more raw, experimental and improvised electronic music. These new influences were called Ian Boddy, Ramp, Detlef Keller & Mario Schönwälder, Rainbow Serpent, Wolfram der Spyra, Gert Emmens, Arc…
Dark Ambient, Ambient, Experimental/impro sub-genres quickly became his favorite musical universe but also with an attraction for deep muffled beats of Minimal Dub and the moving sequences of Berlin School genres.
After the sale of his keyboards (XP-60, SK-200, PSS-780 but not the SH-101!) and a couple of years without having touched synths, it’s back to basics with the purchase of new little devices and the building of a minimal setup with no other goal than to have fun and creativity anywhere.
2017 : More gears joined the setup and more diligence in the creative process.
2020 : This is the first lockdown and with it, the discovery of a bunch of Electronic Music home concerts and groups of synths enthusiasts ! It was then that he decided to take the plunge by creating his own solo project to share passion and creativity through his channel and some groups of Dark Ambient / Ambient / Noise enthusiasts. Then will follow a big home studio upgrade, jams, experiments and electronic atmospheres productions under the name of ObscurSounds.
The next step was taken during 2021 by the meeting with the Petite Victory Collective label founder Atlas Castle. A few technical learning later, he was integrated into the collective.
2022 : February the 4 th , first EP official release under the PVC label. Coming projects are on the workbench…
