PSYRROX

Gustav Egevad aka PSYRROX is a neurologist and electronic music producer who has been creating melodic, quirky electronic music under the alias PSYRROX since the early 2000s. His musical journey began in childhood with early exposure to Jean-Michel Jarre, Ralph Lundsten, Depeche Mode, and Kraftwerk. Growing up in the 1990s further immersed him in the sounds of 80s synth music, Eurodance, and Trance, particularly the influential scenes of the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.

A turning point came during a Tuesday evening art class in the mid-90s, where two friends introduced him to Goa and Psy-Trance, EBM, and the world of synthesizers, sparking a lifelong fascination with the machines behind electronic sound design.

The PSYRROX sound is melodic and playful, shifting between minimal and complex textures with touches of acid and a sense of humor. His musical influences include Simon Posford, Astral Projection, Oliver Lieb, Welle:Erdball, and Depeche Mode. Current favorite hardware includes the Roland SH-101, TB-303, Elektron Machinedrum, and Prophet-10.

Psytrance Jam

“136 BPM. A blend of some prerecorded in Daw and some live midi/Oxi One with live tweaking on some of my synths (Prophet 10 with Big Sky, Murmux Adept with Doctor A and Eurorack). I also used Subsequent 37 CV and my good 15 year old "psy_kick" sample.”
