Gabriel De La Mora - 'Focus Failure' - Limited Edition Cassette

$10.00
Sold Out

No matter how impenetrable a song or an album may be, they always seem to reflect something about the composers themselves. Under this notion, Gabriel de la Mora (GDLM) openly takes us through his walks around downtown Tijuana, the hectic trolley rides to get to work, while at the same time, letting us catch a glimpse of how the characters that inhabit his environment live. For Focus Failure -his second EP- De La Mora puts backbeats to the stories that unfold before him, creating a highly cinematic experience that is equal parts ambient, techno, and first wave post-rock.

Focus Failure is an act of balance that successfully combines the abstract with the accessible through heavy use of samples, energetic programmed grooves, tridimensional synthetic textures, and timbral nuances emanating from processed electric guitars. The album also flows with emotional coherence, with the samples themselves dictating the tone each song takes, while the music matches the animic nuances each of the characters portray throughout their moment under the spotlight.
These tracks seamlessly connect with one another due to their underlying narrative, each carrying a different mood that propels this story forward; they demand to be experienced as a whole in order to fully submerge into GDLM's physical and musical world.

Are you using the Bandcamp app? - We usually don’t pay much attention to playlists on streaming platforms, but this one hits different.

In there, playlists are made from music people actually bought. A rather authentic way to spotlight artists
Some behind the scenes from last night! The 4th edition of Push The Buttons was another lovely gathering. Good people, good vibes, and a whole lot of synths, samplers, and sound nerding.

We had everything from casual gear talk and spontaneous jam s
