Rupture // Rapture - Perpetual Motion Limited Edition Cassette
'Perpetual Motion' was written in the winter of 2022, as the world stumbled out of a global pandemic into further uncertainty. This anxiety is reflected in the material resulting in a darker take on previous sounds. All tracks were written DAWless on hardware as part of a live set to provide a skeleton and then developed and refined in the studio. I think this helps to retain the energy of the tracks, with pulsing rhythms playing off bass stabs. It also provides a running feel and theme across the 6 tracks. Deep, rumbling bass gives way to driving beats, scattered percussion and metalic hits. Soaring melodic synths, evolving arps and atmospheric vocal samples bring a sense of hope as we move into Spring and Summer. The name of the EP comes from a sense of constant motion & restlessness that I felt whilst writing the material. I'm incredibly happy with the results and look forward to sharing it with you.
