Steal From Yourself | Melodic Minute

Hey friends,

welcome back to another Melodic Minute. This one is about a dead simple habit that has quietly created some of my favorite results: combination. Not combining machines, but combining fully finished musical ideas from past projects into something entirely new. Becoming a little copycat of your own work.

In this episode I pull three ideas from my last three Melodic Minutes and let them play together in one jam. The bass and pads come from my Ambient Atelier performance pack. The Moog Mother-32 arp is the exact same setup as my live performance of "Void" — same Sting 2, same Echo, same Microcosm settings, only the Mother-32 sound changes as I play. And the sound FX are the Brain Recordings I explored last week, this time played more live.

The idea is simple: your best ideas are already there. If something is really good, why only use it once? Place it in a new context and it takes on a completely different mood. Think of it like a DJ mixing tracks into a whole new world — just with your own material.
