Marsmachine
Marsmachine is the artist name of Marcus Gyldenløve Kyed – a 25-year-old producer and electronics geek from Aarhus, Denmark, currently living in Kolding. From the age of 14, he has been deeply immersed in the electronic music genre after listening to Trentemøller’s debut album ‘The Last Resort’. From the beginning, he has spent lot of time experimenting, learning, producing – time spent to eventually form Marsmachine and the sonic expression thereof. Throughout the years, Marsmachine has released a handful of singles, and in 2021 he finally released his debut-EP ‘Instructions’.
Marsmachine’s process of exploring and producing electronic music has always relied heavily on a computer-based setup. However, he recently started experimenting a lot more with the powers of his modular synthesizer, meaning that a computer is rarely part of the creative process anymore. Marsmachine chose to mark this transformation with his recent EP ‘The Rest’, where the music is built upon a mix of both “worlds” so to speak. This is a new beginning, as the music is slowly moving closer to the ambient realm, although the original sound of Marsmachine is still preserved.
When Marsmachine isn’t buried in his machines turning knobs, pushing buttons etc., he is studying Sound Design at Sonic College in Kolding, Denmark, while running his own mixing/mastering business ‘MACH Audio’.
