AWITW x 2RMIN - 'When The Ship Goes Down' Album Out Now!

AWITW & 2RMIN’s album “When The Ship Goes Down” is out now through Petite Victory Collective.

It started, as these things often do, with an email.

Nico Bernard, the producer behind AWITW (A Walk In The Woods), hosted a weekly show on Massive Radio. Armin, who'd been managing the station and was deep in the Petite Victory Collective community as well, had been quietly following AWITW's releases for years. When they finally took a step toward collaboration, the overlap was almost uncanny—same DAW (Reason), same taste in music, pull toward the hazy atmospherics of 90s Drum & Bass - but DnB wasn’t enough for this trip.

The album that emerged, When The Ship Goes Down, nods to that lineage while carving out something distinctly its own. Across nine tracks, liquid breakbeats collide with live percussion, field recordings from India bleed into sequenced rhythms from Armin's Nord drum kit and Digitakt. The title itself - not just a devoted Cypress Hill reference—but it doubles as a metaphor for the project's spirit: a fast ride into the unknown, not knowing where the instruments would lead.

Working across borders, the two developed a rhythm. Tracks passed back and forth, building on each other's instincts. What could have been a logistical challenge became part of the album's character.

For "Prueba," they knew they wanted vocals—and they knew exactly who. Adri Vinchira, the Colombian-born, Belgium-based producer and vocalist, brought her own energy to the track. Given no creative limitations, she delivered a rapid-fire stream of Spanish lyrics about breaking free, seizing control, following wherever the sound takes you. It's the album's most kinetic moment, her voice weaving through the production like another instrument.

The concept holds together: a spacecraft hurtling toward unknown terrain, touching down somewhere new. But while the album's fictional journey ends on fresh ground, the collaboration between AWITW and 2RMIN is far from over. This, it seems, is just the first landing.

Don’t be a stranger!
