Buy Food With Plastic
For those following us since the very beginning, you know that sustainability and eco-friendly are some of the keywords of the collective. The collective act towards ecological concerns through music compilations and diverse events supporting ecological initiatives.
In 2021 we had the pleasure to support Nordic Ocean Watch Denmark through our two first compilations: ‘Minimal City Vol. I’ & ‘Elements Vol. I’. We managed to gather 93 donations through those two first projects. The support so far is still mind blowing and certainly keep us moving forward.
We’re delighted to announce that we will support Buy Food With Plastic in 2022 with our upcoming projects. The main idea behind @buyfoodwithplastic is to BUY FOOD WITH PLASTIC BOTTLES! They initiate events worldwide that unite people and provide solutions to urgent local problems, such as environmental pollution, hunger, lack of education and poverty.
During their Buy Food with Plastic events in Nicaragua, Ghana & India, which are organized by a team of native employees, the local population can buy a warm meal with 10 plastic bottles. The collected bottles are processed into various products such as household utensils or ecobricks for buildings.
Buy Food with Plastic was founded in response to the environmental and political situation they encountered in Nicaragua in the summer of 2018. Along the coast there were vast amounts of plastic laying around. In addition, the political crisis escalated, with serious consequences for the local population. Tourism disappeared and many hotels and restaurants were forced to close. The local people lost their jobs, families struggled to provide food for their children.
We really respect BFWP’s values and will to make a difference the way they are doing already. Super happy to be able to support and bring awareness around such an initiative this year.
